The Romanian National Meteorological Administration organised a technical working group meeting on April 1 and 2, 2014, to present the current status of Pilot Study 2 and the preliminary results of the OrientGate project. Representatives of the Forest Department of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, coordinator of Thematic Centre 1, participated in the meeting, along with representatives of the Environmental Protection Agency of Covasna.

On March 27, 2014, Attica Region organised a policy formulation workshop with the involvement of the regional council and mayors. Discussions focused on project activities, the outcomes of the pilot study and the measures still to be taken. The aim was to gather political opinions and priorities in relation to climage change and wetlands.

A meeting of the working group of project partners involved in the preparation of the OrientGate handbook, the project's final publication, took place on January 29-30, 2014, in Matera, Italy.

Attica Region disseminated information about the OrientGate project as part of the EC's Open Days 2013 – Local Events programme. Organised between November 21 and 22, 2013, in cooperation with Athens University Medical School, the event comprised a conference and four training workshops.

During the 19th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP19), held in Warsaw from November 11 to 22, 2013, the OrientGate project was presented at the side event “Integrating Climate Knowledge into Planning: OrientGate and Other Case Studies in South Eastern Europe”.

The Regional Environmental Center, together with the Municipality of Veszprém, organised an event for stakeholders at Veszprém City Hall to discuss the OrientGate project, raise awareness of climate change adaptation, and explore issues raised in the course of preparing the pilot study “Vulnerability assessment in Budapest and Veszprém”, which is being developed under the project’s Thematic Centre on Urban Adaptation and Health.
